Bandar Mornings.

Potatoes, red onions, ginger, garlic, dried pusu, dried shrimp… all sorts. Anyone can guess what the Anlene can is used for?

I remember as a young boy coming to this exact hair salon for haircuts. Twenty-odd years later, it is still here and the interiors are still pretty much as I remembered it. It’s nice to see some things have not changed.

Old Libraries and Vintage Cameras.

Stumbling upon a bit of nostalgia during an afternoon  walkabout in Seria. I hardly see old medium format cameras for sale anywhere anymore, so it was a nice surprise to see a selection of them in this camera shop.

Mamiya Medium Format Camera for Sale.

Left to right; A Hallina Viva Medium format camera, a 35mm Mamiya DSX1000 film SLR (a 35mm Mamiya film SLR!!!) and a 35mm Seagull SLR. I was just amazed. You almost always never see these guys around anymore, let alone for sale.

The old Seria Library (Bilek Bachaan Seria) along Jalan Bunga Kemantin. It would be nice if this place was restored back to it’s former glory, complete with the original facades.

The daily Bandar Seri Begawan to Seria bus.

Views from an Overhead Bridge.

There is something very cathartic about just standing somewhere quietly in the shadows and watching the world go by, armed with nothing more than your imagination and a camera.

CAS* Care and Action for Strays.

CAS (Care and Action for Strays Brunei) is a wonderful local organisation that aims to improve the lives of homeless cats and dogs here in Brunei. The important work they do gives homeless animals a fighting chance and at the same time educate the wider public on responsible pet ownership. I have seen the incredible work they do and it is a labour of love and truly awe-inspiring.

The ultimate goal here is to provide each of these rescued animals a warm, loving and secure home through adoptions. In order for CAS to continue doing the amazing and vital work they do, volunteers, reliable foster homes and support (financial and food donations) are always welcome. Please contact them at Care.actionsforstrays@gmail.com. Their blog address is Careandactionsforstrays.blogspot.com. Check their blog regularly for their next Activity Day and help spread the word!
